Coronavirus has halted the sport and technology industry and severly imapcted the relevant companies. To provide Hong Kong, China and worldwide companies with the opportunity to build up resources for development after the pandemic, AquaBloom International Sports Technology Group (ABSG), together with its exclusive IP member HYPE Sports Innovation, is launching the sports tech Virtual Accelerator program. Hong Kong and China actively support the sport and technology industries, local sports tech companies, however, face obstacles in entering overseas and mainland markets due to the lack of channel and experience in getting international resources. The Virtual Accelerator serves as an international platform to connect them with interantional/ mainland sports industry resources, and provide exposure to global business opportunities.

Together with the global accelerator expert HYPE, ABSG pioneers to launch the first international sports tech accelerator in the Greater China. Through its world’s largest acceleration network, joining startup companies will have the chance to engage with and learn from the global and mainland’s top sports brands, sports organizations, clubs, industry leaders, expert mentors and investors (e.g. Sina Sports, Cyberport HK, FIBA, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., Nike Sports Camp，Sportradar，adidas, etc.), with the ultimate goal to win possible financing. The Virtual Accelerator provides an invaluable opportunity for joining companies to have direct access to the latest sports technologies, improve their products, understand the international sports tech market, and build connection for business expansion into international and mainland markets.
The 8-week Virtual Accelerator program will kick off in mid June 2020. Application has started and the deadline is 1st June. Over 900 companies from the world have already applied at the moment. The program also gains attention from Hong Kong investors and Cyberport. To encourage extensive business experience exchange, startups from Hong Kong, China and worldwide are welcome to enroll.
